Vidya Balan has finally opened up on rejecting the much talked about remake of Sridevi starrer Sadma and said that it is a cult movie which shouldn't be tempered with.
Apparently, there have been reports that Vidya was offered to play Sridevi's role in the movie. But the diva politely turned down the offer.
Talking about the same, the Kahaani actress told Deccan Chronicle, "I can’t. I just can’t do. Such films are cults and I feel they shouldn’t be touched."
Vidya further revealed that veteran actress Shabana Azmi too had suggested her name for Mahesh Bhatt’s Arth.
"Shabana Azmi Ji suggested my name for the Arth remake and that’s very large hearted and generous of her but I feel ‘Mujhme Itni Himmat Nahin Hai’," she added.
Currently, Vidya Balan is busy promoting her upcoming movie Tumhari Sulu wherein she plays the role of a carefree housewife who turns into a late night radio jockey.
Helmed by Suresh Triveni, Tumhari Sulu is slated to release on November 17.
