Veteran actor Vinod Khanna who was hospitalised in HN Reliance Hospital in Girgaum on March 31 due to severe dehydration, has responded positively to treatment and is stable now.

A spokesperson for the HN Reliance Foundation Hospital said, "Vinod Khanna was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation hospital on Friday with severe dehydration. He is under the care of our doctors and has responded positively to the treatment and is now stable. His family thanks his well wishers for the good wishes and requests to respect their privacy."

Earlier a photo of the Bollywood star in a frail heallth condition had gone viral online and sparked rumours of him suffering from bladder cancer.

The 70-year-old actor’s son Rahul Khanna said in a statement that Khanna’s condition was quickly brought under control following hospitalisation. “He is doing much better and the doctors are looking to discharge him soon. Our family is most grateful for the extraordinary care he has been receiving at the hospital and we are touched by all the good wishes pouring in”, he said.

The hospital said Khanna would be discharged in a day or two depending on the doctors’ reports.
