Delhi:

While Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero has failed to live up to the expectations of the audience, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has come out in support of his wife Anushka Sharma’s performance in the film. He took to his Twitter account and showered praise on the performance of Anushka. He tweeted, ‘’Saw @Zero21Dec and loved the entertainment it brought. I enjoyed myself. Everyone played their parts well. Loved @AnushkaSharma performance because I felt it was a very challenging role and she was outstanding.’’

Anushka plays Aafia Yusufzai Bhinder, a wheelchair-bound NASA scientist with cerebral palsy in the film. Talking about her role, the actress had earlier revealed, ‘’I mean a character who has cerebral palsy, the only way I could emote was by just being centered on the chair. I used to spend all my time sitting on the chair. As an actor, you want to take up a challenge. It was difficult and rewarding for me. I was very nervous as I didn’t want to let down the character.’’

Shah Rukh also graciously thanked all those who reviewed his film, Zero, also starring Katrina Kaif. He wrote, ''Reading msgs that u enjoyed #Zero. I can’t answer individually, so a few lines from a poem I was reading: The earth is wickedly dark, so why is ur poem so white? Becos my heart is teeming with thirty seas, I answered.(Mahmoud). So thk u all from the bottom of those thirty seas!"

Meanwhile, Anushka was last seen as Mamta, a small town married woman in Sui Dhaaga alongside Varun Dhawan. Virat, on the other hand, is currently on a cricket tour. He was recently spotted at a mall in Melbourne where he is supposed to have watched the film. Anushka had recently taken a short break from the promotions of the film to join him in Australia for their first wedding anniversary on December 11.

Zero was received with mixed response and the opening collection was less than what was expected of the movie. Zero has so far collected Rs 38.36 crore. Despite its impressive star cast, the film underperformed at the box office and had managed to collect merely Rs. 20.14 crore on its opening day.
