The year 2018 has come up with some good news for the movie buffs as the first month of the year is loaded with a diversity of content.
One such movie, which will be hitting the theatres in January is Vodka Diaries starring Kay Kay Menon, Raima Sen and Mandira Bedi in the lead roles.
A thriller, Vodka Diaries features Menon playing the role of ACP Ashwini Dikshit, who is in a quest to solve a string of murders.
The movie, which is shot in Manali, is helemd by Kushal Srivastava and has been the talk of the town ever since the release of its intriguing trailer.
So as the audience is looking forward for the release of Vodka Diaries, its star cast got candid about the movie in their exclusive interview with News Nation.
Here are the excerpts:
Q: Kay Kay Menon, we have seen you playing variety of roles time and again, how different is this role?
This character is quite different as this movie is not just a murder mystery or a suspense thriller, it is a human story as well. Usually, when one watches a murder mystery, he or she is keen to guess the killer. But apart from this angle, this movie has a story which people will like to watch.
Q: Mandira Bedi is seen playing the role of your wife, tell us about her character.
Mandira is playing the role of a poetess who is very good at her work. And my character is the one who is far away from the world of poems. So I often end up messing her poems in the movie which is usually the reason behind our tiffs.
Q: Kushal, not many people are aware that Vodka Diaries was shot in just 20 days. How did you manage to do it?
It required a lot of preparation, rehearsals and ofcourse the support by the actors. We had already made the entire plan about the shooting and even had the back-up plans ready for the Manali shoot. Though, we did face a lot of hurdles, but things did work out fine.

Menon - Once you work with focus, the hurdles aren't a matter of concern. Our aim was to complete the movie in time and we did put in all the efforts.
Raima Sen - Shooting in such a cold weather and snowfall was the most challenging thing for me. But luckily, it is Kay Kay who had most of the outdoor shots, so it was good.
Notably, Vodka Diaries mark the debut of Kushal Srivastava as a director and the movie will hit the theatres on January 19.
