Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War has become Bollywood's biggest opener of 2019 at a jaw-dropping Rs 50 crore! According to Box Office India, the Siddharth Anand’s action movie saw an opening of Rs 50 crore tailing just behind Thugs of Hindostan’s massive Rs 50.7 crore opening and the now biggest worldwide film opening, Avengers: Endgame which opened at Rs 53 crore.
While ‘War’ has been the biggest opener for both the stars, the BOI adds that the jingles in the box office could have even reached up to Rs 55 crore had it not been for other competitions such as Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and Telugu film Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy.
Just a day before its release, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff have reached out to fans with a special message, requesting them to avoid posting spoilers about their latest release War.
Roshan and Shroff, who play mentor and protege at loggerheads in the Sidharth Anand's action-entertainer, said they have made War with a lot of "blood, sweat and love" and it is something that should be enjoyed on the big screen.
"Hi guys! I have a personal request to make. We have made 'War' with a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and love. Please protect our spoilers when you see the film because it will immensely add to everyone's movie watching experience. Trusting you all with this," Hrithik tweeted on Tuesday.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie also stars Vaani Kapoor opposite Hrithik and Shroff.
