Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan’s War is continuing its winning streak at the box-office even in its third week. The film has earned Rs 291.05 crore. Sharing the numbers on Twitter, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, ‘’#War continues to lead, despite multiple new films releasing this week… [#Hindi; Week 3] Fri 2.80 cr. Total: ₹ 277.95 cr. Including #Tamil + #Telugu: ₹ 291.05 cr. #India biz.’’
The film has surpassed the collection of Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh and has become the highest earner of 2019.
Overwhelmed with the film's success, Hrithik Roshan said in a statement, "It is an incredible response to our hard work and I’m truly grateful to the audience for loving our film. When we decided to make War, we were clear that we were attempting to do something that has never been done in Indian cinema and we went all out to make it happen. So, it’s hugely validating to see the fantastic response of the people enjoying our action entertainer in the theatres."
In War, Hrithik is pitted against Tiger Shroff, and the actor said working with the young star was a learning experience. "I was learning. I was constantly watching his honesty, integrity, the process that he applies. To pull off a two-hero film, you need two people, who are honest and have love and admiration for each other. With Tiger, I feel so much love and admiration for the person he is and the actor that he is," Hrithik said.
War tells the story of an agent Khalid (Tiger Shroff) who is sent on a mission to eliminate his senior and mentor Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) who has gone rogue. The film was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in 4000 screens. The supporting cast comprises Ashutosh Rana, Vaani Kapoor and Anupriya Goenka.
