New Delhi:

Kabir Singh rocked box office with record breaking numbers, it went on become the fastest film to garner Rs 200 crores after it managed to churn much controversy over its content and glamourisation of masculine toxicity. Indeed negative reviews worked towards giving it a bigger audience.

However critcism that Sandeep Reddy Vaga faced didn't deter him to defend the aspects of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer that recieved much flak in a recent interview with Fim Companion.

Speaking to journalist Anupama Chopra, Vanga said, “When I started this film, I knew it would be a big success at the box office, but I never thought that the rage would be repeated, and it has multiplied four times now.”

Vanga's remarks sparked more controversy as netizens that included several actors who reacted heavily with tweets that included Swara Bhaskar, Gulshan Devaiah.

Actress Kubbra Sait, who last appeared in Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy, used sarcasm to make her point. The actress posted a video on her Instagram account where producer and Sonali Bendre’s husband, Goldie Behl slaps her and she slaps him back as both are wearing oven mitts.

"f you can’t slap, touch your woman wherever you want, I don’t see emotion’.SRV 🙌🏽 (I am being sarcastic! No sir it’s not the way one defines love. That’s a toxic real time relationship. It shouldn’t exist.) Thank You @goldiebehl for ending the bender of a night with this jewel 💎 Hahahhaha!!" she captioned the photo to make it evident who this video is directed to.

Meanwhile, Vanga said that his remarks were misconstrued. The director emphasised on the fact that it is the passion that is the driving factor for the violence and he doesn’t think it is anything as significantly wrong that some people are making it out to be.
