Following the amendment of CAA, several B-towners took to the street to join hands against the passing of the bill. The show of support for the protest also sprung from actors such as Farhan Farhan Akhtar, Parineeti Chopra, Swara Bhaskar among many others that led to a Twitter trend demanding movies of the stars to be boycotted. Chalking down the list of actors, IAS Officer Sanjay Dixit even took to Twitter and tweeted a list of actors who protested in the anti-CAA protest urging everyone to boycott watching their movies. The list of actors was shared by other Tweeple. Replying to a tweet that mentions the list of stars which movie tweeple are never watching, Konkana Sen Sharma replied to the tweet writing,
" Please add me to the list."
Last week, thousands gathered in parts of the country to protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. The gathering included workers of political parties, students and also a smattering of Bollywood personalities, including Farhan Akhtar, who made out a strong case against the Act and the NRC.
Days after Bollywood actor Akhtar came out in support of those protesting against the changes in the Citizenship Act, Twitter users even started a trend #BoycottToofan, a demand to boycott his upcoming movie 'Toofan which is set for October 2020 release.
