Bhopal:

Filmmaker Prakash Jha, who is primarily known for making political dramas, today said he is yet to see any social change effected by films.

“I have not witnessed films making any change in the society,” Jha, who is here to promote his upcoming film “Jai Gangaajal”, told reporters.

The movie, starring Priyanka Chopra in the lead role is releasing on March 4. He said that “Jai Gangaajal” is the seventh movie that he has shot in Bhopal.

“People of Bhopal are very co-operative. My movie shoots here have not been hindered for even 7 minutes. I don’t miss my home state Bihar when I am in Bhopal,” he added.

Speaking on the intolerance row, Jha said he never experienced any kind of intolerance.

Asked about his tussle with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief Pahlaj Nihalani over his upcoming movie, Jha said the former wants to set things right at one go.

“He was giving an ‘A’ certificate to the movie with 11 cuts. The censor board was averse to words like ‘saala’ and ‘ghanta’, which have been frequently used in earlier movies.  We went to the tribunal which cleared the film,” Jha said.

To a query, he said that he doesn’t have any plans to make a movie of Vyapam scam, a massive admission and recruitment racket in Madhya Pradesh. “I have not done any research on it,” he said.
