Zoya Akhtar, who is currently busy shooting Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh satrrer Gully Boy, has claimed to start working on the sequel to 2011 Indian comedy drama 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'.
If latest media reports turn out to be true, the film will be coming with all the main leads, comprising Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Kalki Koechlin and Abhay Deol.
"Zoya feels that the audience would be keen to know what the characters are up to in today’s time. The sequel will retain all the characters and the story will take a 10-year leap," a source close to Zoya told a leading portal.
"It is too early to talk about the same. Although the basic premise has been locked, Zoya will start working on the screenplay by end of this year once the final cut of Gully Boys is ready. If all goes as planned, the film would go on floors in the second half of 2019," the source added.

The story of 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' revolves around the lives of three friends, Arjun, Kabir, and Imraan who have been inseparable since childhood. The movie showcases the love story between Arjun and his lady love Laila, who helps him overcome his problem of workaholism. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is being shot in the gorgeous locales of Spain, India, Egypt and the United Kingdom.
Mde on a budget of Rs 550 million, the mvoie received critical acclaim for its outstanding performance in story, music, humour and direction. It has also bagged sever awards in various categories, including two National Film Awards.
On the work front, Katrina Kaif is currently working hard for Anand L Rai's upcoming romantic drama Zero. Also starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in key roles, Zero will hit the theatres on December 21, 2018.

Zero also marks the last film appearance of Sridevi, who died on February 21 due to accidental drowning in a bathtub in Dubai.
