Ranveer Singh, who has been flaunting his many sides as an actor in several films, including Padmaavat, is excited about his next – Simmba. Recently, the actor reveals the many inspiration behind his acting career and says that versatile actors with “chameleon quality” influenced him and masala type of films lured him to join Bollywood.
After hitting the box office with Padmaavat, Ranveer said Rohit Shetty directorial Simmba in which he plays a Mumbai cop Sangram Simmba Bhalerao is just the type of films he loved to do.
"Simmba is the type of film I loved as a kid. The masala film is something that attracted me to become an actor in the first place. Getting a chance to work with Rohit Shetty who is the king of masala movies is …very challenging. You have to perform so many things - there is comedy, action, drama- everything together,” Ranveer told PTI in an interview.
The actor, whose career has seen growth spanning over eight years, with the conscious choice to become a versatile actor finds comedy the toughest to perform.
"Growing up, I used to always admire actors who had that chameleon quality and who could transform themselves into anyone and any kind of genre. Those are the type of actors I aspire to be and hence I always ensure all roles that I choose are starkly different from each other," Ranveer was quoted as saying by PTI.
"Comedy is the hardest as you need to nail it with every dialogue delivery,” he adds.
Simmba also stars debutante Sara Ali Khan and the film is scheduled for release on December 28.
