Shah Rukh Khan recently heaped praises on Thalapathy Vijay starrer Bigil trailer and now fresh reports suggest the actor who is smitten with director Atlee Kumar’s work has roped in for a film for the Red Chillis Production and is paying an exorbitant amount almost five to six times double the amount a Tamil or Telegu director draws for a film.
After meeting many filmmakers and coming across a lot of scripts, the King Khan seems to have finally made his mind and is believed to have zeroed down on Atlee’s script, 10 months after his much-hyped film Zero bombed at the box office.
A report by an entertainment portal has claimed that since Atlee Kumar's next movie with Vijay is being delayed and Shah Rukh Khan's proposed film with Ali Abbas Zafar has been sent to back burner, at this stage director and the actor turned producer are collaborating.
"Shah Rukh Khan has been reading many scripts. He has been having intense interactions with Ali Abbas Zafar but that film is not happening right now for some reason. Ali too has got busy with his web series Tandav, starring Saif Ali Khan. On the other hand, Atlee's film with superstar Vijay, Bigil, is expected to release in sometime. The director was to do another film with Vijay in December but again, this project is not happening at the moment. Atlee's dates, hence, are free from December," the Bollywood Hungama quotes a source as saying.
Talking about the script that Atlee had written sometime back, the source revealed it will be an original story, complete massy entertainer full of action and not remake of the Bigil director's earlier works like Theri and Mersal.
Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment has offered a staggering Rs 30 crore to helm the project, the report also states. This is a huge amount for the South Indian filmmakers by any yardsticks. Normally commercially successful film directors in the Tamil film industry are paid anything around 5 to 8 crore.
For the uninitiated, rumours of Shah Rukh and Atlee working together surfaced after they were first spotted during an IPL match in Chennai. Later, it was heard that the actor will have a cameo in Vijay and Nayanthara-starrer Bigil which the actor described as ‘Chak De on steroids.’
