Even after 11 years of Heath Ledger’s death, the wound still remains fresh for all the Joker fans. Not only was the film, The Dark Knight a turning-point of perception for comic book movies, but the actor's performance also went on to become a defining iteration of the DC Comics villain, which ultimately earned him a posthumous Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Ledger was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on January 22, 2008, months before the world saw one of the most-loved villain there ever has been-the Joker.
Remembering Ledger 11 years after his death, fans took to social media to share emotional posts and the ground-breaking characters Ledger gave us in his short lifetime.
