Oscar-winning sound mixer, Gregg Rudloff known for his works in ground-breaking Hollywood movies like Mad Max: Fury Road, The Matrix and Glory died. He was 63. Though there is no official confirmation regarding the exact cause of his death, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office is treating it as a possible suicide. "It was reported to us possibly as a suicide," a spokeswoman for the coroner's office told Deadline.
"His body was found at his residence in Sherman Oaks on January 6. A call was made, and during the call, it was reported as a possible suicide. We won't know for sure until the autopsy is completed," she added.

As one of the most recognised Hollywood names in sound-mixing, Rudloff had a career spanning for 35 years until his sudden death. A recording mixer with more than 200 credits listed on IMDb, Rudloff also received Oscar nominations for The Perfect Storm, Argo, and two films he made with director and frequent collaborator Clint Eastwood: Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and American Sniper (2014). He also received Oscar nods for American Sniper, The Perfect Storm and bagged a 1986 Emmy for sound mixing on An Early Frost.
He was a longtime collaborator of director Clint Eastwood; his first job being Eastwood's Honkytonk Man in 1982 and worked with him in movies like J Edgar, Invictus, Changeling, Gran Torino, Letters From Iwo Jima among others.
With over 200 credits, his recent work includes The Girl on the Train, Fences, Molly's Game and Captain Phillips. Since his death on January 6, social media has been filled with praise and condolences. “From the moment Gregg came into my world, my understanding of humility, excellence and what it is to be a man and to stand for something changed forever,” wrote David White, whose work with Rudloff on Mad Max: Fury Road garnered him an Oscar for best sound editing. “I thank you my friend, and though I know you knew I felt that, oh God I wish I said it to you. Too late now.”
