The daredevil stunts, the secret spies, the group of malevolent syndics, Mission Impossible franchise is a thrill-seeking adventure we find guilty-pleasure in. Hence, what better ring of music to our ears than to know that Tom Cruise is returning with another two new Mission Impossible movies? After delivering the highest grossing and most acclaimed entry in the franchise, director Christopher McQuarrie is reported to make a come-back for another next two Mission Impossible films. According to Variety, director Christopher McQuarrie has signed up to wheel another two new installments of the blockbuster franchise, which is expected to hit the theatres in the summers of 2021 and 2022.

Tom Cruise, who stars as the meticulous spy, Ethan Hunt in all the octane thriller franchise also confirmed the news on Twitter. The actor tweeted a brief video of the franchise's iconic "M:I" logo with two fuses burning toward the towering silver letters. Cruise captioned the post "Summer 2021 and Summer 2022."

The filmmaker, who directed the last two movies in the series, Rogue Nation and Mission Impossible: Fallout with Henry Cavil also confirmed the news of the franchise by taking it to Twitter. McQuarrie also confirmed his involvement by replying to Cruise’s tweet with, “Mission accepted’’ tweet.

The last mission impossible franchise, Fallout, which also saw Henry Cavil as the antagonist earned almost $800 million worldwide, faring very good reviews even with the movie critics and movie-goers. McQuarrie had also previously worked with Cruise on the 2012 thriller Jack Reacher, and these upcoming projects will mark their fifth and sixth collaborations. He's also scheduled to star in Paramount's Top Gun: Maverick, which drops releases June 26, 2020.
