Despite the 2018 ‘Venom’ not being so critics-friendly, the production for Venom 2 has been confirmed with Hardy returning as the Spider-Man nemesis, Eddie Brock. Speaking to Fandango, Sony producer Amy Pascal, when asked about the future of the Venom franchise, though didn’t give out much about the movie said, "I can say that Tom Hardy will be back, magnificently playing that character as no one else can."
She also added that she will very much continue to be art of the sci-fi slash anti-hero movie despite her new lucrative deal to produce for Universal Pictures.
ComicBook, who also asked Pascal about Tom Hardy’s Venom ahead of the premiere of Spider-Man: Far From Home added, "Tom Hardy's Venom was absolutely, bar none, unbelievable," she said. "He is so good. Nobody else could be that character."
Venom, a character as a nemesis for Spider-Man, was first introduced as a character in a 1984 issue of the comic The Amazing Spider-Man, then 2007, in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, played by Topher Grace and a brief cameo in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and in 2018’s Venom played by Tom Hardy that went on to gross over $855 million worldwide, making it a massive success for Sony's first Spider-Man spinoff movie.
As far as the production for Venom 2 goes, Pascal revealed that there is "no time table" to get it in production.
