Michael Rapaport to Ariana Grande, ‘’There’s hotter women working the counter at Starbucks’’, faces major backlash

Michael Rapaport’s comment on Ariana Grande on her looks isn’t sitting well with the Twitterati. Ariana Grande for a ‘very off-the-book Instagram post’ had posted a picture of her bare-face with a pout. The 48-year-old actor took Ariana’s post to start a Twitter war between the two fans groups. In the picture of Ariana, Rapaport wrote: “Ariana Grande is 27 acts 12, you take off those boots she hides her legs in, the cat eye makeup and the genie pony tale and I think there’s hotter women working the counter at Starbucks no disrespect to Starbucks (sic).” This very public post has sparked a major backlash for Michael. Comments criticizing his superficially misogynistic take on Grande came pouring in. This anger was, for the most part, because of Michael’s focus on Ariana’s appearance which many have found it to be sexist. And to make matter worse for Michael, he didn’t even seem to get the young pop star’s age correct. Grande is reportedly 25, not 27.

“Talk about acting like your are 12, way to tear a woman down for not being as hot as you want her to be,” a commenter responded. Another Instagram user, xmelzeex, tagged comedians Amy Schumer and Lisa Kudrow so as to get a backup. With Amy Schumer known for her very vocal comments, one user tweeted,  “@amyschumer call him out for this shit. EXPLAIN WHY this isn’t cool. It’s not just ‘snowflakes’ getting offended by ‘everything.’ This is some dark, misogynist shit. I don’t give a fuck about Ariana Grande, but women/girls need to know this shit isn’t okay…and WHY IT ISNT OKAY. Where’s Phoebe? Lol @lisakudrow’’.

Even Michael’s own fans are not on his side this time, one user wrote, "Bro, WTF?" One of them wrote, "Why? I mean, just why? Why say something so irrelevant, untrue and unnecessarily cruel about someone you’ve never even met? C’mon man. Be better."

Ariana is yet to respond to Michael but we are guessing the catty pop star isn’t going to go down very easily. Last month Ariana had also hit back at Piers Morgan for criticizing Little Mix for the sexual nature of their promotional materials. With that being said, we are excited as to what Ariana has in store for Michael.
