The craze for Avengers: Endgame has crossed borders and in India it is on a record breaking spree even before its release. The unprecedented buzz around the movie has forced cinema hall owners to arrange shows even at dead hours of the night to cater to the demands of the movie goers.
According to a report on Bollywood Hungama, the film might be screened for 24x7 in India given the supremely high demand for it. According to the report a multiplex chain has recieved special permission to screen the film post midnight across India.
However, the laws in India prohibit the beginning of a film show after midnight, it appears that the rule has been bent for Avengers: Endgame.
A new show for 3:20 am is now open for bookings in Mumbai’s Carnival IMAX in Wadala, says the report.
A source in the report has been quoted as saying, “The permission came through today and we were informed of the same verbally. The permission however is given only for Avengers: Endgame. We are now sitting down to chalk the programming for these post-midnight shows. However, as of now, we are planning to have these shows only in A-tier cities and especially in IMAX and 4DX versions.”
The advance booking for the movie is underway and the first day shows of the movie in almost all the multiplexes across metros is housefull for a April 26 release. Over 10 lakh tickets have already been sold and the number is only increasing by the minute.
According to ticket-booking website BookMyShow, they are selling off off over 1 million tickets in 24 hours of time at an record breaking frequency of 18 tickets per second.
Avengers: Endgame, stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Brie Larson in pivotal roles.
Recently, the director of Avengers: Endgame posted a letter to fans of the franchise, requesting them not to spoil the flick for others by revealing the climax of the movie.
