Hollywood movie Avengers: Infinity War, which is in an attempt to expand its localisation efforts, has roped in a renowned Indian actor for the Telugu version of the film.
We are talking about Rana Daggubati who was last seen in SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Conclusion.
The actor will be lending his voice for the character of Thanos in the Telugu version of Avengers: Infinity War.
Rana is quite thrilled to be a part of the Hollywood project and said that lending his voice for the villainous character was an exciting experience.
"I've grown up reading Marvel Comics and Marvel movies with their intricately woven storylines. It is fascinating to see how Marvel has created characters and stories that resonate so well with audiences across the globe, making movies at a scale that one had never before imagined," Rana said in a statement.
He further added, "Characters such as Iron Man and Captain America have been my favourites. So dubbing for 'Avengers: Infinity War' was thrilling. Voicing for Thanos, a villain so powerful that some of the biggest superheroes have a tough time dealing with, was an exciting experience".
The makers of Avengers: Infinity War are also ecstatic to have Rana on board for the Telugu version and hope to reach a wider audience with this.
"With Rana Daggubati coming on board as the voice of Thanos, we are confident of reaching out to a wider audience base while retaining the magnitude and staying true to the ethos of the Marvel brand," said Bikram Duggal, Executive Director and Head, Studio Entertainment, Disney India.
Talking about Avengers: Infinity War, the movie features an ensemble of superheroes and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Josh Brolin etc in key roles.
