The pilot, which will focus on the science geek as a kid growing up in Texas, will be written by “Big Bang” co-creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady.

News of the potential series comes as “The Big Bang Theory” completes its 10th season on TV. The show has not yet been renewed but members of the cast, including Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch are negotiating new contracts.
