While the death toll from the California fire rises each passing day and has reached 23 as rescue workers recovered more bodies of people killed by the devastating blaze that began on Thursday, Hollywood celebrities expressed their grief over the tragedy and used social media to call out for help. American singer Katy Perry took to her Twitter handle to convey immense gratitude to all the brave first responders for fighting the fire. On one hand, Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga help people in evacuating homes, James Woods, on the other, calls out for help.

She wrote, “There’s a lot of unknowns tonight... but what we do know is we are here for you and as a community, we will help in any way possible. Immense gratitude to all the brave first responders out there putting their lives on the line for so many families. #CaliforniaFires.” The singer also slammed US President Donal Trump and called his response to be heartless.

This is an absolutely heartless response. There aren’t even politics involved. Just good American families losing their homes as you tweet, evacuating into shelters. https://t.co/DJ4PN26bLZ

While Hollywood actor Darren Hayes too took a dig at Donald Trump’s response, actor James Wood has been running hashtags #CampFireJamesWoods and #SoCalFiresJamesWoods to reach out for the missing loved ones.
9 people are dead, some burned alive in their cars. 150,000 people have fled their homes and an entire town has been wiped out. This is the most disgusting, repugnant, horrible, cruel thing this sociopath has said yet. #CaliforniaFires pic.twitter.com/WLNSxd9bK4

Remember: winds can shift erratically, so have evacuation needs prepared. When ordered to go, go! Conditions can change rapidly. Leave an outgoing message on your cellphone, so people will know your status, even if your battery dies. #CampFireJamesWoods #SoCalFiresJamesWoods

"Today, 14 additional bodies were located, which brings our total number to 23," Sheriff Kory Honea told a news conference. Ten of the bodies were found in the town of Paradise while four were discovered in the Concow area, both in Butte County, Honea said.

From miles around, acrid smoke could be seen in the sky around Paradise, the sun barely visible. On the ground, cars were reduced to metal carcasses, while power lines were also gnawed by the flames. "The magnitude of destruction we have seen is really unbelievable and heartbreaking, and our hearts go to everybody who has been affected by this," said Mark Ghilarducci, the director of the California Office of Emergency Services.
