With the spoilers ban on Avengers: Endgame lifted, it is time to talk about some of the scenes we have been holding back, specially Captain America flinging Thor’s Mjolnir as it has always been meant in his position. Among the many cheers and tears among the audience, the one scene that had us cheering, ‘Go, ‘Go’ was during the end’s fight scene against Thanos when Thor's hammer positioned in Capt’s hand along his shield making one of the most epic scenes ever. While we are not complaining, the scene also had us asking why Capt. was never able to lift the hammer in Avengers: Age of Ultron or that was at least how he wanted to make it appear.
As it turns out Captain America had always been able to lift the hammer but he was much too ‘polite’ to steal the thunder from Thor. Marvel head Kevin Feige who participated in an "Ask Me Anything" Q&A on Reddit earlier this week when bombarded with the question of the same referred that Steve was always worthy, and was just choosing to be "polite" when he attempted to lift the hammer in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“We think he was always worthy and was being polite in Age of Ultron’’ he added.
And to all the fans who have been arguing about Steve’s capability of lifting the hammer, Endgame's creative team adds that Captain’s ‘supposed’ attempt in Avengers: Age of Ultron was a small point to properly evolve the star-spangled man's story even more.
I think our great discovery with that character was how much inner dimension that character ultimately has,” Anthony Russo also said in an interview before Endgame was released.
