Jumanji sequel, a reboot from the 1995 Robin Williams starrer, Jumanji is likely to have Awkwafina from Crazy Rich Asians for their next installment. According to reports, Sony has teamed up with Dwayne Johnson to make a long-awaited sequel to the Robin Williams classic, but it was more of a soft-reboot than a true sequel. The report states that actor and rapper Awkwafina is in negotiations to star alongside Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in the sequel to smash-hit film, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
Awkwafina, best known for her appearance in Ocean’s 8 and the romantic-comedic drama, Crazy Rich Asians will be helmed by Jake Kasdan, Jack Black and Karen Gillan reprising their respective roles from the 2017 film.
According to Variety, Kasdan, Scott Rosenberg, and Jeff Pinkner have penned the script for the next Jumanji installment. Matt Tolmach is producing the project along with Johnson's Seven Bucks banner and Kasdan.
