'Crazy Rich Asians' star Gemma Chan in talks to join MCU's 'The Eternals'

Chan would be joined by previously announced cast members Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek and Kumail Nanjiani.

"Crazy Rich Asians" star Gemma Chan is reportedly in talks to join MCU's "The Eternals". Chan would be joined by previously announced cast members Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek and Kumail Nanjiani. The last time we saw of Chan in MCU was her role as Minn-Erva in “Captain Marvel”.

As of now her role it remains unclear whether the actor will reprise the part in Captain Marvel or play a different one. Marvel has reportedlydeclined to comment on this talk. Chloe Zhao, whose credits include “The Rider” and “Songs My Brothers Taught Me,” will be taking the director’s seat, the script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. While Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige is also set to produce. Barry Keoghan, best known for "Dunkirk" and "Chernobyl", is also joining the project.

Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, "The Eternals" is set millions of years ago when the cosmic beings known as the Celestials genetically experimented on humans to create super-powered individuals known as the Eternals along with the villainous Deviants. The film is scheduled to be released on November 6, 2020.
