Emmy Awards 2019 HIGHLIGHTS: Phoebe Waller Bridge’s Fleabag Is Star Of The Night

The 71st Emmy Awards are taking place at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles and like every year, the who’s who of Hollywood stars have descended on the red carpet. Actors such as Emilia Clarke, Sandra Oh and many others turned up in the best outfits at the starry affair.

Popular HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones is the only show to be nominated in all seven drama categories and has the highest nominations  that includes categories like Directing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Drama Series, Writing for a Drama Series, actors Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington have also been nominated for Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Drama, respectively.

Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams have all been nominated for Supporting Actress in a Drama. Alfie Allen, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Peter Dinklage are nominated for Supporting Actor in a Drama.

Meanwhile, Netflix's India Original series Sacred Games, anthology film Lust Stories and Amazon Prime Video's The Remix are also nominated for International Emmy Awards. The second season of Sacred Games, starring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has been nominated in the best drama category alongside Brazil's Contra Todos - season three, Germany's Bad Banks and UK's McMafia, which also features Siddiqui in a key role.

08.29 am: Phoebe Waller Bridge’s show Fleabag has scored its fourth and final win of the night. It won the best comedy series award. 

08.20 am: Jodie Comer wins the Outstanding Lead Actress award in a drama series for Killing Eve. 

08.16 am: The Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series award goes to Jason Bateman for Ozark.

08.10 am: The Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series award goes to Billy Porter for his performance in Pose. This is his first Emmy win. ''The category is love, y’all, love,'' he said on stage as he accepted his award.

07:55 am: Julia Garner wins the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Ozark, beating out Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Lena Headey, and Gwendoline Christie from Game of Thrones.

07.52 am: The Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series award goes to Jesse Armstrong for Succession.

07.49 am: Peter Dinklage wins the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the second consecutive year for his performance in Game of Thrones. 

07.35 am: The Outstanding Variety Talk Series award goes to Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. 

07.33 am: The Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series award goes to Don Roy King for Saturday Night Love.

07.25 am: The Outstanding Variety Sketch Series award goes to Saturday Night Live.

07.20 am: The Outstanding Writing - Variety Series award goes to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

07.09 am: The Outstanding Limited Series award goes to Chernobyl.

07.05 am: The Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie award goes to Michelle Williams for her performance in Fosse/Verdon.

06.58 am: The Outstanding Television Movie award goes to Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.

06.49 am: Ben Whishaw honoured with the Outstanding Supporting Actor award in a Limited Series or Movie for his performance in A Very English Scandal.

06.36 am: The Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special award goes to Johan Renck for Chernobyl.

06.33 am: The Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie award goes to Patricia Arquette for her peformance in The Act. The award was presented by the Game Of Thrones cast. 

06.20 am: The Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series award goes to Phoebe Waller-Bridge for her performance in Fleabag.

06.09 am: Bill Hader receives the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his stupendous performance in Barry. It is the third Emmy for Bill.

06.06 am: The Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series award goes to Harry Bradbeer for Fleabag.

05.55 am: Phoebe Waller-Bridge honoured with The Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Fleabag. 

05.51 am: The Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award goes to Alex Borstein for her performance in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

05. 40 am: Tony Shalhoub bags the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

05.35 am: Homer Simpson kicks off Emmy Awards 2019.
