Farhan Akhtar's cousin Kabir bags award at Creative Arts Emmys

Bollywood actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar's cousin Kabir Akhtar has won the award for outstanding single-camera picture editing for a comedy series for "Crazy Ex Girlfriend" at the 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

The American TV director-editor tweeted about his win, writing, "omg I won an #Emmy for cutting #CrazyExGirlfriend!!!" Kabir is Farhan's writer father Javed Akhtar's nephew. "@kabirakhtar well done brother.. Congratulations.May there be many more.. #Emmys #Editing," Farhan tweeted.

Javed's second wife, Shabana Azmi, also congratulated Kabir on the big win. "Our nephew @kabirakhtar with the Emmy he just won for editing. Proud family jumping with joy!!" she posted. Kabir's credits include work for "Arrested Development", "New Girl", "The Daily Show", "Unsolved Mysteries", "Behind the Music", and the Academy Awards. 

This was the third time Kabir got an Emmy nomination. The first one came in 2012 for outstanding picture editing for short-form segments and variety specials for editing a segment of the 84th Academy Awards, starring horde Billy Crystal and Melissa McCarthy.
The second nomination was the subsequent year for outstanding single-camera picture editing for a comedy series for a part of a American sitcom "Arrested Development".
