‘Fast and Furious’ star Tyrese Gibson has reignited the feud which started back in 2017 by throwing shade at the ‘opening’ of The Rock’s spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw. The feud believed to have started in 2017 when Dwyane Johnson reportedly delayed the Fast & Furious 9‘s release date from 2019 to 2020 will not been seeing a hug-it-out ending as Gibson has taken a dig at the Rock in a now-deleted post blaming the actor for ‘Breaking up the family’.
The actor who appears as Roman Pearce in 2 Fast 2 Furious in a ‘misleading’ Instagram post that said” Hobbs & Shaw has lowest Fast & Furious box office opening since Tokyo Drift’’ commented” Breaking up the family clearly doesn’t have the value that one would assume it does''. After deleting the initial post, Gibson also shared another, writing: “Just gonna sit here. Leave my glasses on. Stay quiet and act like nothing ever happened. Why? Cause nothing did happen.”
With the action series faring exponentially, the studio felt confident to give a green signal to spinoff with the recent release of Hobbs and Shaw starring Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs with Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw. The spinoff is believed to have been the reason of delay for the release for Fast and Furious 9 which did not sit well with Tyrese Gibson who blamed The Rock for the delay calling the spinoff ‘selfish’.
“Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU
As of now, the franchise will resume proceedings with the ninth entry in May.
