First Reviewers Say 'The Witcher' Makes Game Of Thrones Look ‘Awful’

New Delhi:

Henry Cavill’s Geralt is here to take down the whole Game of Thrones with a swoosh of his sword according to first reviewers. The first reviews of the Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of The Witcher which is set to release in December 20 is just in and fans are so impressed with the series that they are terming Game of Thrones ‘awful’ in comparison to the Henry Cavill series.

Critics who had the chance to preview the first season claim they are ‘blown away’ by the show’s awe-inspiring choreography, as well as Cavill’s incredible transformation into Geralt of Rivia.

In fact, one Twitter user said: ‘Some of the action and sword work choreography for The Witcher is some of the best I can recall for a sword and sorcery/fantasy series of this type in years.’

Another critic admitting that he was ‘a little worried’ to watch the screenings for the show as he is ‘a huge fan of the books’, but was later proven wrong by the impressive roll out tweets, ‘@LHissrich has done a masterful job telling this story. It also helps that the cast is amazing! And Henry Cavill, just… wow.’

Based upon a series of stories by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski that follow Geralt of Rivia played by Henry Cavill who is soon joined by powerful sorceress and young princess – played by Anya Chalotra and Freya Allen on his adventures, the TV show is just one adaptation of the  novels, with gamers having long been enthralled by the land of The Continent.

‘’Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts’’ the IMDB description reads.

While fans of The Witcher will have the privilege of seeing the monster slayer, Geralt in all his glory on Dec. 20, “The Witcher” has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix.

The second season of the Henry Cavill-led fantasy series will begin production in London early in 2020, for a planned debut in 2021, according to Netflix. Like the first season, Season 2 will also consist of eight episodes.
