Game of Thrones season 8 was an emotional ride as we said adieu to some of our favourite characters starting the Battle of Winterfell. While the battle between the dead and the living might have died down, the one scene that got the whole GOT fans bawling their eyes out was when Jon snow left his direwolf Ghost behind without even a goodbye. This seemingly heartless farewell by Snow was looked upon with an angry, eyebrow-raised look by GOT fans after the pair who had been through so much over the past eight seasons was ended with just a look???
Ghost’s painful look with one-ear missing not knowing that his ‘pal’ is leaving him behind for good was heart breaking. But, before you go about lashing out on Snow for leaving Ghost behind, the production team gives us the reason as to why Snow had to do what he did- they needed to 'streamline' the filming process.
Speajing to INSIDER, director David Nutter said, "Well the good thing was
"So there wasn't any issues with green screen or situations where we're dealing with any kind of rotoscoping."
Regardless, fans went ballistic over the heart-breaking scene. One user commented ‘‘Jon Snow says goodbye to everyone In Winterfell...Yet doesn't even pet Ghost. What a load of bullshit."
The Australian Federal Police have even taken it upon themselves to show Kit Harington what a true hero looks like as they uploaded a picture to Facebook showing an AFP officer scaling a large gate with a trusty police dog strapped to them, captioning it with: "Jon Snow, take note! Our Tactical Response Team never leaves their Direwolves behind."
