New Delhi:

Game of Thrones writers has given its fans enough reasons to shove it off its memory now. The craze has fizzled out and the fan are no longer chirping with mind boggling fan theories.

For viewers who have stuck around for eight seasons of the HBO fantasy series, all that's left after the penultimate episode is ash and a bad taste. Not just the walls of Kings Landing came crumbling down but also the hopes of the fans who expected killer twists and turns and moral victory of favourite characters.

When Daenerys Targaryen lived up to her terrible family's reputation and burned King's Landing to the ground and with it buried the last hope for "Thrones" along with it.

"The Bells," an absolute disaster of an episode exhibited every bad habit the series' writers have ever had from sloppy writing to no definite climax or denouement.

Not just logic took a back seat as scorpions failed to work and Arya Stark survived beyond any reasonable, the sequencing of the events looked abrupt and competely out of pace. It made all the build up of action through all the 8 seasons unnecessary.

Jaime’s race to reconnect with Cersei after such a long slow-burn relationship with Brienne was unjustified. He reuniting with Cersie and dying silently only to crumbling debris wasn't the kind of ending two major characters should have got.

Same was with the Cleaganebowl final fight. By the end of the night, there was no real victor and fight that happened over a starway lacked the brutality and force that was expected.

Sandor tells Arya to do away with her only motive in life and without a secound thought Arya is convinced, something unlikely of a character who has sniffed in vengeance all her life and was specially trained to fullfill her purpose.

For the vast majority of Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen has been painted as the last great hope for Westeros.  The sole surviving heir of the royal family who began her arc powerless, raped, and abused, and grew into a powerful and uncompromising protector of the raped and abused. Nevertheless, the transition of a protagonist to an antagonist was uncalled and as she razed the streets of King’s Landing, she lost all her fans and supporters.

Nevertheless, what came as a bigger socker was how Jon Snow a claimant to the Iron throne, a strong and righteous character knowing the strage transformation of his queen acted out of fear and not courage that was expected of him in the final hour. Realization will take a while before it looms heavily on Jon. That the character evolved all these year to act on the dictates of a tyrant and violent Queen is too hard to digest for a loyal Game of Thrones fan.

Here's keeping our fingers crossed that the show atleast does justice to the remaining characters before it bids a final goodbye.
