The Happy Death Day makers will soon roll out its horror sequel - and Life of Pi star Suraj Sharma will join Jessica Rothe and Israel Broussard in Happy Death Day 2U, according to sources.
The making of Happy Death Day 2U - the sequel to the 2017 horror hit Happy Death Day - was announced by Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures.

The horror film, to be once again written and directed by Christopher Landon, will feature original leads Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard and Suraj Sharma. Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard also starred in Netflix's rom com To All the Boys I've Loved Before.
In the first film followed Tree Gelbman (Rothe), who wakes up on her birthday alongside Carter (Broussard) and gets brutally killed later in the day. She relives the day of her murder in "Groundhog Day" style.

In the sequel, Tree will discover that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead. Happy Death Day was released in October 2017 and grossed $122.7 million worldwide.
Happy Death Day 2U, to be produced by Jason Blum, is scheduled for February 14, 2019 release.
