Nobody! Harrison Ford who first donned in the cowboy hats and mushy leather jacket of the iconic archaeology professor in 1981 Indiana Jones with Raiders of the Lost Ark is so not ready to hang up his boots of the legendary archaeologist, and we agree. Appearing in The Today Show, Ford, when asked about who should replace his role given the fact that there have been some reports with the animated Chris Pratt stepping in the shoe and sorts, Ford gave a very Dr. Henry Walton answer. Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones, don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones,” the 70-year-old said while laughing. “When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy’’.

There has been quite a rush of reports in the past that Chris Pratt could lead the franchise in a potential reboot. But judging by the answer Ford gave, he is adamant that the archaeologist he first brought to life in the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark should go along with him.

Ford, who have had always been very shielding of the George Lucas character’s legacy for three decades is for us Indiana Jones as Ford answered. Be it Chris Pratt or Chris Pine, which Ford known for not being good with names mistook for Pratt told Today‘s Craig Melvin “This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this,” is rumoured to be the next Indy, it will be a different archaeologist and not the same Indie which we have grown to love and associate with. Earlier when Shia LaBeouf who starred alongside Ford in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was rumoured to be taking over the franchise, Ford had then also given the almost same answer.

“What are you talking about? It’s mine,” Ford told Time in 2010 when asked if he was passing on his Indy hat to LaBeouf. “I would love to do another Indiana Jones movie. George Lucas is working on an idea now. Shia can get his own hat. I earned that hat.”

Talking about the franchise, Indiana Jones 5 will re-team Ford with Steven Spielberg for the fifth time which is all set to hit theaters on July 9, 2021.
