Based on the real 26/11 Mumbai terror attack that shook the nation, Dev Patel reveals how the ‘shoot’ of the movie itself was traumatising. Dev, who plays Arjun, one of the unsung heroes at the Taj Hotel says, “For us, we lived in the siege for 3 months and every time we see a hotel entry and exit; it takes us back to the series of events. It was traumatizing’’

‘’But as an artist, you invest wholeheartedly in these characters. You give a part of yourself in these roles. I hope that when people watch me on screen, they are able to see the emotional investment and a lot of heart that went behind the film’’.

Starring Dev Patel, Anupam Kher and Armie Hammer, the Anthony Maras directional had its release on the 22of November. While the movie is based on the Mumbai terror attack, director Maras told a daily that the movie is more than just a retelling of the attack. Adding that dreadful events such as Mumbai terror attack reinstates a selflessness among people, Maras added,

“Even though it’s primarily a film about people in a hotel in Mumbai, it’s also a metaphor or microcosm of the wider world, about how people get along with one another in times of threat and how they can be stronger together’’.
