While we mourn the end of Hugh Jackman’s reign as Wolverine in Logan, a better good has come out of his exit-something that involves his childhood dream. The Greatest Showman actor, who has had a lifelong dream of holding the prestigious honour has, in fact, been awarded the certificate for his record of the longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero in a surprise presentation on ITV’s This Morning by Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records.Â
According to the Guinness World Records, the Australian hunk holds the record with fellow X-men star and legend Sir Patrick Stewart, who have both have had careers spanning 16 years 228 days as Wolverine and Professor Charles Xavier (Professor X) respectively.
Both the veteran actors made their first appearance as Marvel superheroes in X-Men (2000).
"When I was a kid, the Guinness Book of Records was it... That's it, I've made it! This is why I got into showbiz, thank you," he said.

"My dream as a kid, both my brother and I, was to be in the Guinness Book of Records one day. We tried to stay up and play badminton for 48 hours, we tried to flip coins off our elbow, and I just realised maybe I'm there now, I don't know’’ Jackman adds.
Craig Glenday, who presented Hugh Jackman with the certificate said, ‘’It was an honour to be able to finally hand over a certificate to Hugh and welcome him personally into the Guinness World Records family’’.
