After buying Marvel and Star Wars, Disney boss’s newest interest is on the iconic British spy, James Bond. For his work on Disney, Bob Iger was named Time’s Business of the Year upon which he found himself being questioned on James Bond. The outlet asked Iger what he would choose to purchase between Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and James Bond to which the 68-year-old replied,
“We’re not looking to buy anything right now. But I’ve always been a huge James Bond fan.”
Cryptic!
Iger’s comment ignited interests among people because earlier in March Disney merged with Rupert Murdock’s 20th Century Fox and all the properties that fall under that umbrella such as X-Men, Fantastic Four even Deadpool who fall under the same roof. With their elaborate reach, it didn’t take long for people to start wondering what Iger meant and if the British Spy could under be Disney house.
Currently, Everything or Nothing Productions (EON) exclusively produces the James Bond movies, while Danjaq LLC is the holding company responsible for the copyright of 007 on-screen.
Disney is expected to have another massive year at the box office in 2020 with the releases of the live-action Mulan, Marvel’s Black Widow and The Eternals, Pixar’s Onward and Soul, and more. As for James Bond, the 25th James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig in his last outing as 007 has a UK release date of April 2, 2020, and opens in the US on April 10, 2020.
