Fans will probably have to wait a little longer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3" as director James Gunn has revealed he will start working on the Marvel Studios project after completing the editing on DC's "The Suicide Squad". It was earlier reported that Gunn will start the production on the third installment in the "Guardians..." franchise after wrapping up the filming of the Warner Bros movie.
The filmmaker made the revelation while answering a fan question on Instagram.
When asked by a fan if he will move to the much-awaited "Guardians..." movie after winding up the supervillain film, Gunn replied, "I will not start Vol 3 until after Squad is finished editing, not filming."
In March, Disney reinstated Gunn as the director of the "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3" almost a year after he was fired by the company over his old, offensive Twitter posts.
The film has a 2020 release date.
