Jim Carrey has showed interest to making a sequel of the 1994 movie, 'The Mask'. The 58-year-old while promoting new film Sonic the Hedgehog, insisted that he doesn't "think in terms of sequels", adding that the sequel will have to depend on a ‘crazy visionary filmmaker’. "It depends on a filmmaker really," the 58-year-old admitted to Comicbook. "I don't want to do it just to do it. But I would only do it if it was some crazy visionary filmmaker. Sure."

Based on the Dark Horse comic series of the same name, The Mask sees Stanley stumble across a mysterious mask that turns him into a green-faced, elastic man. The movie also starred Cameron Diaz as Carrey’s   love interest Tina Carlyle.

Mike Richardson, the founder of Dark Horse Comics, who created the character, has previously expressed his desire to reboot the franchise with a female lead.

"I'd like it to be another character film about a person dealing with absolute power," he told Forbes. "The whole theme of The Mask was we all say what we would do if we had absolute power, just like Stanley Ipkiss.

"When we get absolute power, we often resort to the most petty of endeavours and it's overcoming our human nature and using the power for good."
