Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts ditched her heels and walk barefoot on the steps of the Cannes red carpet.
The actress, 48, styled by Elizabeth Stewart, went for Old Hollywood glamour in a black Giorgio Armani Prive gown and an emerald and diamond necklace by Chopard, said the Hollywood Reporter.
Promoting her new movie “Money Monster” alongside close friend George Clooney, his wife Amal, and film director Jodie Foster, at the Cannes Film Festival in France on Thursday, the “Pretty Woman” star held up her gown to show off her shoeless state as she climbed the famous steps.
In earlier stages of the red carpet, Roberts wore a pair of black peep-toe, platform heels, but she must have got tired of them after a while and hence went without them on the steps.
That’s one way to rebel against the festival’s strict dress code after last year’s Flatgate debacle, in which women were being turned away from the fest because they wore flat footwear including ankle boots and platform sandals.
