Actress Kate Winslet is in talks to join Will Smith and Helen Mirren in “Collateral Beauty”, the David Frankel-directed unconventional drama.
The film centres on a New York advertising executive, who experiences a deep personal tragedy.
His colleagues devise a unique plan to break him out of his depression - which works, but not in a way that anyone imagined.
“Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” scribe Allan Loeb wrote the script, reported Aceshowbiz.
Smith, 47, is playing the executive. Search was on for an actress in the key supporting role, and an earlier report said Rachel McAdams was close to securing the role. It is now being said that the McAdams casting was premature and Winslet, 40, was the one nearing the deal.
The movie also includes such cast as Edward Norton, Michael Pena and Naomie Harris. Keira Knightley is also in negotiations to join it. Production is slated to kick off in a few weeks in New York for a December 16 release.
