Keanu Reeves is one of those few stars that lets their actions and deeds to the talking. A very private person by nature, the Matrix star has been secretly donating thousands of pounds to children's charities for years according to sources. Way back in 2009, he spoke to Ladies Home Journal, where he confirmed that he has his own private foundation which aids children's hospitals and cancer research. He is reported to have said, ‘’I have a private foundation that’s been running for five or six years, and it helps aid a couple of children’s hospitals and cancer research. I don’t like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does’’, he had added.

True to his words, Keanu has been very generous with his money and silent about it. He has been secretly donating to charities and hospitals for years. For a long time, Reeves has been a silent philanthropist and a silent-giver many. According to sources, the "John Wick" star, who leads a reclusive life, has been helping cancer research and kids' hospital wards for "five or six years". He is also known to donated to have other charities like SCORE (Spinal Cord Opportunities for Rehabilitation Endowment), which is a group that helps people living with spinal cord injuries apart from the Cancer research donations.

For his blockbuster movie, the Matrix, Reeves, is said to have donated $75 million dollars to the workers he has worked with. Reeves is also said to have brought his mother a house, purchased motorcycles for the stunt crew on The Matrix and taken a wage cut in order for films to hire more expensive actors, such as Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate.

According to Snopes, a fact-checking internet site, Reeves told the publication, "I have a private foundation that's been running for five or six years, and it helps aid a couple of children's hospitals and cancer research."

He added, "I don't like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does".

Reeves was first inspired to get involved with the charities back in the 1990s, when his sister Kim was diagnosed with leukaemia.
