The news for Harrington to join the heroes from a race of immortal humanoids was announced at Disney’s fan expo D23 Expo on Saturday. The Game of Thrones brothers will see he Madden as the Eternal Ikaris, while Harington will play human hero Dane Whitman, also known as Black Knight.
The previously announced cast includes Angelina Jolie as Thena, Madden as Icarus, Kumial Najiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, and Don Lee as the villain Gilgamesh.
The announcement of Harrington as Black Knight came quite a good surprise for Jolie and us, who did not see the surprise cast coming. Speaking to ET, Jolie expressing her excitement over the new cast said,
‘I still think we’re seeing each other behind the scenes, like, “Did you hear…?” ‘I didn’t know Kit was in the film! It’s a whole thing. I’m thrilled, but I had no idea.’
The Chloe Zhao directorial ‘Eternal’ will see a race of eternals created by the powerful godlike creatures known as the Celestials who keep watch over the Earth throughout human history.
