Leonardo DiCaprio's Earth Alliance on Thursday, made a statement that the organisation has donated $3 million dollars to help wildfire relief efforts in Australia. Making a statement that the fund will be used to help an "international response to the catastrophic bushfires" that has ravaged the country November, the Oscar award winner said that the dollars will be used to help residents affected by the fires, enable wildlife rescue and support the long-term restoration of the environment.
Making the announcing on his social media that Earth Alliance will with local Australian partner organizations including Aussie Ark, Bush Heritage and Wires Wildlife Rescue, Leonardo DiCaprio in his post mentions, 'A $3 million commitment to assist critical firefighting efforts in New South Wales, aid local communities most affected by the wildfires, enable wildlife rescue and recovery, and support the long term restoration of unique ecosystems'.

With the donation, Leo, joined other Hollywood stars who also made donation with Chris Hemsworth at $1 million, Elton John also at $1 million while Pink, Metallica, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have donated as well.
The Australia wildfires have killed 25 people and destroyed 2,000 homes to date. Authorities on Friday issued fresh warnings and evacuation orders in Victoria as hot and windy conditions threatened to regenerate huge bushfires. Around 23 fires were still burning in Victoria, according to the state's emergency management department.
Emergency warnings were issued for Buchan due to spot fires sparking and a new warning was issued for the area around Swifts Creek.
