More than ten years after the Marvel Cinematic Universe came into being, things are looking forward to a more gender-neutral casting. A ray of fresh light for the LGBT community, Out Magazine reports that The Hashtag Show has revealed a casting call for a role in the upcoming 2020 Eternals film, saying “While the studio is open to actors of all ethnicity, they would prefer the role to go to an openly gay actor.”

With DC Comics which have already casted Ruby Rose as a gay superhero Batwoman in a new TV series, it would be an awakening to see Marvel give a big break for the queer actors onscreen, especially in a domain as big as Marvel.

The Eternals are a fictional species of humanity who fight against the Deviants to save Earth. The characters, who first appeared in their own comic books in 1976, include Ikaris, Thena, Ajak, Sprite and Makkari among others.

Since its news for a gay superhero, Marvel fans have charted out a list of Hollywood actors who might fit the bill, Captain America, Beauty and the Beast star Luke Evans, among others to play the gay character.

Other actors tipped to join the cast of The Eternals include Eva Green and Zoe Kravitz. The Defiant Inside Me took to Twitter to substantiate the James Bond girl, Eva Green among the Eternals cast. ‘’Eva Green is already practically official in The Eternals.
The announcement of the official cast will come soon’’, they wrote on their official Twitter handle.
