Marvel Studios Phase 4 with Black Widow, Thor, The Eternals is all about girl power

The year 2019 has been extremely satisfying for the Marvel Cinematic universe with two most ambitious releases, Avengers: the Endgame and Spiderman: Far From Home ad the first one becoming the highest grossing film ever worldwide defeating James Cameron's Avatar

At the at San Diego Comic Con on Saturday, the studio made major announcement about its upcoming releases. Now with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) and Captain America (Chris Evans) out of MCU, let's take a look at the list of all that Marvel Studios has in store for us. 

Black Widow

 

Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and her eventful death in the last Avengers franchise attracked much empathy. As MCU tries to work up its score with female super heroes' the studio announced that are all set to bring stand-alone film of Black Widow. Johansson introduced teaser footage of hand-to-hand combat in Budapest to a big audience at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday. Black Widow will also star Stranger Things breakout David Harbour, Rachel Weisz and Florence Pugh, who plays a sister figure to Johansson’s Natasha. It’s set to hit theaters on 1 May, 2020.

Thor: Love and Thunder

 

Natalie Portman will take over the reign as Thor in the fourth installment in the series about the god of Thunder. Director Taika Waititi dropped the hammer on the Hall H audience Saturday at Comic-Con. Portman who played the character Jane in the first two Thor movies will turn Thor. Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and Waititi have revealed the title and logo. Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on 5 November, 2021. 

The Eternals

 

Angelina Jolie surprised fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday evening along with the cast of the upcoming film The Eternals. Jolie was joined on stage by fellow cast members Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Bryan Tyree Henry and Salma Hayek, as well as director Chloe Zhao. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige says it will hit theaters 6 November, 2020. 

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

 

Scott Derrickson is returning to direct stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen. Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released on 7 May, 2021. 

MCU Phase 4 reveal shows off a mix of films that draw on existing characters alongside brand new ones, but the true winer indeed are the women characters and it’s safe to say that we’ll probably see more new ones welcomed into the franchise as time goes on.
