Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss has been roped in for Matrix 4 which is expected to begin production next year. According to Variety, Reeves will re-enter their role as Leo and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity in a world of stimulated reality known as the Matrix. Lana Wachowski, who was behind the three franchises will once again take the director seat and also be writing for the sci-fi movie while Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will produce and globally distribute the film.
“We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana,” Emmerich told Variety. “Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.”
The Matrix franchise starring Keanu Reeves was a huge success spawning the sequels "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions," and now the fourth one.
