Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus have called it quits with husband of eight months, Liam Hemsworth. The ex-couple got hitched in a secret wedding ceremony in December 2018 after being on and off in a relationship for more than 10 years.
According to a report by People.com the couple wants to focus more on their career than on their marriage. The website quoted a representative confirming the split. Cyrus' rep told the website, “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Rumors of a split between Cyrus and Hemsworth was already doing the rounds when Cyrus was also spotted kissing Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter in Italy. Crater has also split with her husband.
The singer-actress reecntly also posted a photo of herself on Instagram in which she was not wearing her wedding ring, but various bracelets and necklaces only making evryone speculate that things were not right between Cyrus and Liam.
In June, there were reports of Cyrus and Hemsworth going through a rough patch in their marriage. Cyrus had then shared an image of the gossip magazine that alleged break-up between them and slammed rumours about her and husband Hemsworth splitting up.
Cyrus and Liam first met and fell in love on the set of 2010’s The Last Song. The couple got engaged in June, 2012 and she said at the time, “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam.” The couple split up in September of 2013 as she went on to date Patrick Schwarzenegger, 25, then Stella, 29, but found her way back to Liam at the end of 2015. She has also dated Priyanka Chopra's husband Nick Jonas for an year and claimed 'they were in love.'.
Cyrus identifies herself as pansexual despite being in a heterosexual marriage said, “I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique,” the 26-year-old says. “And I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it.” She even chooses to being labelled as partner than as wife.
