Scrutinising tweeple just realised Hollywood’s nicest man, Tom Hanks was the original Joe Goldberg even before Joe Goldberg from ‘You’ had us glued to the Netflix screen. We are, of course, talking about Tom Hanks’ character Joe Fox in 1998 rom-com ‘You’ve Got Mail’ with Meg Ryan. Not only do the two Joes share same first name, the two both own a bookstore, have a weakness for blondes, goes by different persona and most importantly, they are both incredibly charming in their own way.
The shocking similarity was pointed out by Netflix’s US account, where they posted a tweet comparing the two characters leading to jaw-dropping reaction from tweeple.
Check out some of the reaction here:

In You’ve Got Mail, Hanks’s character Joe Fox runs a larger book company, while Meg Ryan’s Kathleen Kelly runs The Shop Around the Corner, an independent book store that is under threat of closing down because of Joe until, in the battle of trying to resolve the rivalry they fall in love sans the murder unlike Joe Goldberg.
As for You, Netflix confirmed that You Season 3 is happening last month after two extremely successful seasons. ‘Breaking: You will return for a third season. As in, the show. Called You. Not *you*. You know?’ Netflix announced last month.
