The 90th Academy Awards or Oscars 2018 took place with much grandeur and fanfare on Sunday, honouring the best talents in cinema from the last year.
The entire industry was waiting eagerly to witness a neck-to-neck fight between fairy tale romance 'The Shape of Water' and dark crime comedy 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' for the coveted Best film award.
Moreover, Guillermo Del Toro’s 'The Shape of Water' was the most nominated film of the evening with 13 nods and finally bagged four golden statues. Christopher Nolan’s 'Dunkirk' (8) and Martin McDonagh’s 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri '(7) were also on the race with eight and seven nominations respectively.
Earlier, in January Hollywood witnessed Golden Globe awards 2018 and was finding it hard to get over the celebratory mood. In the meantime, Oscar 2018, the most honourable award show of the Tinseltown hit the industry making several rounds in the social networking sites.
Comedian and late night host, Jimmy Kimmel presided over the show for the second consecutive time. The ceremony kicked off at the Dolby Theatre on March 4 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
