Oscars best picture blunder: Accountants Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz given security protection

After a shocking goof up in the announcement of the Best Picture award at the 89th Academy awards 2017 PricewaterhouseCoopers accountants Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz who has been dismissed has now been provided with security protection. 

The company is providing security to Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz, says spokeswoman for the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) auditing firm, Carey Bodenheime. 

According to the reports, security had been called in for accountants Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz after their addresses and their family photos were published in the media.

The duo was responsible for mixing up the envelopes at S Academy Awards the Oscars auditors have apologised and have released a statement for the same.

After the goof up, Oscars auditors PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the apology statement said that they sincerely apologise to the Moonlight, La La Land, producers of both the films and the oscar viewers for the mix-up.

Explaining the reason behind the mistake, the auditors said that the presenters were handed over the wrong category envelope which featured La La Land's name.
