Robert Downey Jr didn’t quite receive the reception he was hoping for when he showed up for the Howard Stern interview this Monday. Stopping by The Howard Stern Show for Sirius XM to launch their new Los Angeles studios, the Iron Man star, when coming in the show told host Stern how he got into a verbal scuffle with one of the executives’ in the greenroom moments before the interview started.
Bringing up the unwelcome reception, Downey told Howard: ‘I was just standing out there … standing in front of the TV screen when this little nebbish big-wig says, “Out of the way!”’. According to Downey, the exec asked him “Who the f**k are you?” to which Stern added that the star ‘could have killed’ the exec with his martial arts skills.
As for Downey, fans have given out a petition to include the star in Oscar’s nomination for Avengers: Endgame Oscars consideration.
"We, the undersigned, were so moved by Mr. Robert Downey Jr.’s performance as Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame that we believe he is unquestionably deserving of the Academy’s Award for Best Actor. The creative choices he made and immense depth of emotional energy he infused in Tony Stark forged an unforgettable experience for the viewers," the petition reads.
